Vinestone Wine Co. (“Vinestone”, “we”, “us”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through vinestonewine.com, why we collect it, and how we protect it. What we collect and why
- Forms on our website (newsletter, wine and beer club, gift requests, private events, fundraising, tasting seat requests and our contact form): your name, email address and, where asked, your phone number and the details of your request. We use this only to respond to and fulfil your request.
- Email updates: if you tick the consent box on a form, we use your name and email address to send you news about tastings, events, new arrivals and offers.
- Purchases and orders: when our online store is open, the details needed to process and fulfil your order (name, contact details, order and payment information). Payments are handled by our payment processor; we do not store full card numbers.
- Website usage: basic, aggregated information about how visitors use our site (pages viewed, device and browser type) collected through cookies and Google Analytics, to help us improve the site.
We only collect what we need for these purposes, and we never sell, rent or trade your personal information.
Email consent and unsubscribing
We only send promotional emails to people who have given us their consent, as required by CASL. Every email we send identifies Vinestone Wine Co., includes our contact information and has an unsubscribe link. You can withdraw your consent at any time by clicking that link or by contacting us, and we will stop sending you promotional emails within 10 business days.
Service providers and where your information is stored
We use trusted service providers to run our website and communications, and they may only use your information to provide services to us:
- Constant Contact, to manage our email list and send our emails.
- Google (Analytics, via Site Kit), to understand website traffic.
- Our website host and email delivery service, to operate the site and deliver form messages.
- Lightspeed and our payment processor, to manage inventory and process orders when our online store is open.
Some of these providers store information outside Canada, including in the United States. While stored there, your information may be subject to the laws of that country, including lawful access by its authorities.
Cookies
Our website uses cookies to make the site work (for example, to remember items in a shopping cart) and to collect aggregated analytics. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; parts of the site may not work properly if you do.
How long we keep your information
We keep form inquiries only as long as needed to respond to them and for reasonable record-keeping afterward. We keep your email subscription details until you unsubscribe. Order records are kept as long as required for tax and accounting purposes. When information is no longer needed, we securely delete it.

Our website uses encryption (HTTPS), and access to personal information is limited to the people at Vinestone who need it to serve you. We take reasonable steps to keep your information accurate and secure.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or withdraw your consent to how we use it (subject to legal or contractual limits).
