Vinestone Wine Co. is a boutique wine shop that has been serving Cochrane for close to 15 years. We specialize in smaller production wines, unique spirits, and craft beer.

We understand that shopping for wine can be intimidating, which is why we keep things casual and unpretentious. Our well trained staff is always happy to talk wine, and help you find the perfect bottle. Stop in browse our shelves, or our huge walk in cooler, and let’s chat wine!

Meet Adam

Adam has been at the helm of Vinestone for more than 12 years. He is a Sommelier and Diploma holder from the Wine & Spirit Education Trust out of London. Working alongside his two dogs Henry and Allie, his wine recommendations have been making dinner parties around Cochrane better for years. He runs most of our wine tasting events, his casual approach to wine keeps them, and the shop more social than formal.

Originally from Vancouver, with a few years spent living abroad in London, Calgary is definitely my home. I absolutely love winter and we get many months of it. My favourite thing in the world is traveling with my family. l also enjoy hiking, skiing, golf, and paddling. I have my diploma in wines from WSET and must work part time in the wine community as my passion is getting people out of their comfort zone and into different styles and varietals.

Hi, I’m Matt. I’m a Dad who loves wine. Before moving to Cochrane, I worked in some great restaurants and cocktail bars across North America. I started studying wine to help me choose what I wanted to drink with dinner. I live in the light to meduim-bodied reds section at Vinestone. When I am not drinking wine, I am usually drinking a gin cocktail of some sort. Cheers

With a background in event planning, elevated dining experiences, and foodie festivals, I bring a passion for culinary and wine to the store. My love for Rosés from Provence, and Oregon Pinot Noir comes from years of memorable food and wine pairings, including collaborations with Calgary’s top restaurants. As a certified yoga teacher, I believe in balance – especially when it involves a great bottle of wine.
